My role

My part

Team project : 5 people (V1) · 4 (V2). This list only covers my part.

  • Contributed to the game design
  • Branching dialogue: helped write it (mostly rewriting) and integrated it in Yarn Spinner
  • Staging: cameras, character animation, lighting and post-processing (for the most part)
  • Yarn commands to drive animations from the dialogue
  • Built the hub
  • Audio integration; reworked and extended the audio setup tool for Yarn Spinner; internal guides (animation, sound)
  • V2: tracking dashboard (Python, Streamlit, Plotly) hosted on Streamlit Community Cloud: progress, scores per pillar, at-risk students
  • V2: helped build the cloud database (Supabase)

The brief

UNIMINUTO, a Colombian university, wanted to prepare its student teachers: the player takes the role of a teacher facing the complex situations of the job, and their choices are scored against five teaching pillars.

We made one chapter in three acts about school bullying, in which the player is a middle-school teacher: a conflict between two pupils in class, a pupil confiding in the teacher at the end of the day, then a confrontation in a corridor. Between acts, free time lets the player explore the school and witness everyday scenes whose Socratic dialogue feeds their thinking.

From V1 to V2

V1 laid down the game: the three acts, the free-time scenes (corridors, principal’s office, staff room), the hub and the dialogue.

In V2, the team redesigned the interface in the holographic style the client asked for and added telemetry: play sessions are stored in a cloud database and viewed in a dashboard.

Growing responsibilities

In V1, I mostly worked on staging, narrative and development. In V2, I moved on to data: I helped build the cloud database and built the dashboard on my own.

Good to know

AI disclosure

AI-assisted code. Some dialogue was polished with the help of AI. The French and Spanish translations were done with DeepL.

Third-party assets

The environments and the hub rely on 3D asset packs, including POLYGON City (Synty). Many of the character animations come from Mixamo.
